Trying to clear dumpstate/logcat on unrooted HTC Sensation 4G

Hi,

My 4G running Android 4.0.3 is always low on memory, even though I have few apps and store most data on a largely empty SD card.

I have spent a lot of time searching, and many people recommend running the USSD code *#9900# and deleting the log files.  Sounds perfect, but I cannot run this -- or any -- code.

I am using the native htc dialer app to attempt entering codes.

Every code I enter gets the same response:

"Connection problem or invalid MMI code."

I have tried adding a "," to the end of the code as that was recommended in some fora -- but that didn't work either.

Can someone please tell me:

a) is there a way to run ussd codes on my sensation 4g ?

b) is there another way to delete dumpstate/logcat files WITHOUT rooting?

Thanks much,

kirkp

Galaxy Note 2 cannot registered to network

I have a new Samsung Galaxy Note 2 for about 2 months. It has been working fine with my T-Mobile prepaid.

The problem started in the last few days, my Note 2 lost network connection/cell signal from time to time (no voice no data).

There was no signal bar, but a circle with a bar across it showed on the status bar area.

Sometimes reboot it several time and it came back (and sometimes I had to remove and reinstall

the battery and the sim card) and then it may work a few hours and the connection

was lost again (showing a circle with a cross bar). This is in the same location that has been working

fine for the last couple of months with this Note 2, but it happened everywhere in other locations.  At the same locations, my wife's

Samsung Galaxy S2 with T-mobile worked just fine for the last few years.

I already tried everything i could and the problem persists. I'm an Android power user.

Some observations:

- when I had no cell signal, no data network, I was able to use wifi calling at home on my DSL. Does that ruled out SIM card problem?

- as soon as I turned off wifi, my Note 2 got no cell signal (while my wife's Galaxy S2 phone with T-mobile worked fine)

- Will moving to a new SIM card help?

I'm very desperate. Please help. Please. Please give me suggestions that I can try.

The Note 2 is running stock Jelly Bean 4.1.2. Nothing fancy.

Thank you very much.

I am betting on the C6833 and after some researching it seems that that's the only model seems to support T-Mobile. Am I correct? I don't know these bands/frequencies stuff so I just had to ask.

Used Galaxy S4 from Gamestop but the IMEI is blocked and can't return it anymore.

I bought a certified used Galaxy S4 from Gamestop. It was a gift for my girlfriend so I didn’t open for a few days. Finally she opened and voila, wanted to activate a new line but turns out the IMEI is blocked because the guy who previously owned it didn’t pay his bill. Gamestop doesn’t want to do anything because it’s over seven days. I showed the reps at the Tmobile store my purchase proof along with the IMEI written on the Gamestop box but they don’t know how to do anything other than sell you a phone. Now all I have a $549 wifi mini-tablet. So much for Tmo being different. Are there any options for someone in my condition?

BLU Dash 4.0 APN settings and MMS

I've had the BLU Dash 4.0 unlocked phone on T-mobile for about a week now.  I'm great with everything, but cannot get picture messaging to work (MMS).  This phone is on Android 4.0.4.  Today I asked T-mobile tech support to send me the correct APN settings for Android 4.0, but I received nothing.  Does anyone else have the BLU Dash 4.0 and do you have this problem?  What are the correct APN settings?  I've tried several different combinations after a web search, spend HOURS on this, but still to no avail.

One important item--I do not have a data plan, do not want one, and rely solely upon WiFi.  T-mobile says that MMS should work fine over WiFi, and it did once I got the correct settings on my iPhone 3GS.

Help?

Three times now,  have seen the WiFi Calling icon Red.  Each time giving the same error:

'REG09: Missing 911 address' error: Wi-Fi Calling

Each time, when I go to "set it" the address I have placed in there is still there, same address, same place I am using the phone, same network, same SSID, same Access point sitting in the same room.

Why is this not staying set.  The address is correct, accepted by the system, but then later, not set?

How do I upgrade a standard SIM to micro SIM (or nano SIM with adapter)?  and keep my current number for my Nexus 5.

I have a U8150 Comet with a pre-paid Tmobile plan with a standard SIM

I've purchased a Nexus 5 and it requires a micro SIM.

I've search for MicroSim online and can't find anything and there doesn't seem to be anything in this forum about it either.

I called 611 on my Comet for Tmobile support and I spent 30 minutes being handed around from one department to another - they don't seem to have heard of the Nexus 5 and upgrading the micro SIM.

Nexus 5 - No LTE nor HSPA+

I just got my Nexus 5 and T-Mobile sim card (prepaid).  I have the $60/month 2.5GB package.

However, when I set up the sim card and such, I was rather dismayed to find that I was only getting HSPA service (indicator in the status bar said 'H').  After a quick speed test, it appears that my download/upload speeds are a measly 0.39 Mbps and 0.75 Mbps.  I've checked my location with the T-Mobile LTE map, and I'm supposed to have "Very Strong" coverage.

Is there anything in the settings I have to change, or is it just supposed to work automatically?

Solution to Picture/Group MMS on WiFi

$

This was specifically for the Galaxy Note 3, but I am posting it here for the possibility it may be helpful for other Android Phones besides this one. While viewing the HTC One, Galaxy S4 and other pages I saw many people were experiencing Picture and Group (MMS) messaging problems. Obviously the steps may vary slightly depending on your specific phone model but I believe the APN settings should be relevant? If your phones APN settings differ from what is written below, retain your APN setting and only change the two lines that corrected the issue for my new phone.

This is how I fixed my Note 3 from not sending or receiving Group Messages and Picture Messages while connected to WiFi. My phone would not Activate Data to send or receive those while connected to WiFi, resulting in error. The message or picture would try to download but would fail or would not send.

Copy/Paste from my original Discussion.

After two months I have found a solution to Group and Picture messages not being sent or received while connected to WiFi.

It involves the Phones APN settings and was a very easy fix.

Go to /System settings/Connections/More networks/Mobile networks/Access Point Names. Here you will see the APN "T-Mobile US LTE" Click this and copy down all of the information. For the Note 3 it should say

Name - " T-Mobile US LTE "

APN - " fast.t-mobile.com "

Proxy - Not set

Port - Not set

Username - Not set

Password - Not set

Server - Not set

MMSC - " http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc "

Multimedia message proxy - Not set

Multimedia message port - Not set

MCC - " 310 "

MNC - " 260 "

Authentication type - Not set

APN type - " default,mms,supl "

APN protocol - " IPv6 " <----------------This is what I changed

APN roaming protocol - " IPv4 "  <--------This is what I changed

Turn APN on/off - " APN turned on " checked

Bearer - " Unspecified "

Mobile virtual network operator type - " None "

Mobile virtual network operator value - " Not set "

Under the list of "APNs" at the bottom of the screen you see a "+" sign. Click that and created a new APN using the same exact Settings as the "default" TMO Note 3 APN. But you are going to make a change to theAPN protocol and the APN roaming protocol. For both of those you are going to change to " IPv4/IPv6 "

As soon as I created a new APN and used IPv4/IPv6 for both of those my phone was able to send and receive picture messages and send and receive group messages while still connected to WiFi. I tested this a great deal. I even tested it on different public WiFi.

Hello, I'm an owner of 2 new Moto X's, both unlocked, and any time I try to send a picture message I receive this:

"the media content was not included due to a picture resolution or message size restriction"

I know that the resolution is not too large, because I've sent the identical pictures with an iPhone 5 and there were no problems.

Any help?

Thanks!

4G LTE does NOT work on Galaxy S4 after Switching to T-Mobile from AT&T

$

I have a Galaxy S4 bought from AT&T. Now I have switched to T-Mobile. My 4G LTE is not working. In fact there is no data connection at all. I never ever had 4G LTE connection problems with AT&T. Here are details of my phone.

Galaxy S4

Android version - 4.3 (received from AT&T)

Network - T-Mobile

Mobile Network Type - LTE

Mobile Network State - Disconnected

All the mobile data related settings are correct since I was using it for a while with AT&T. So I am confident about the settings.

I tried calling the customer support, but there is no update from them and 4G LTE still does not work.

Do I need any software update from T-Mobile that will make my phone work with t-Mobile 4G LTE? Not that 4G LTE does not work at all. It works, but, only at times. Its totally random. At same place it will work today but not after 30 mins. And it does not work for 22 hrs in a day and works only for 2 hrs in a week which are un-noticable for me.

I am totally disconnected from internet after switching to T-Mobile.

Wireless works fine, but, I need to be at home for that, which I am not.

So please help me.
